Our People are our most important ingredient.
From the independent family farms to our Readington Farms family in Whitehouse Station, to our fleet of truck drivers, we form a family dedicated to a single goal— delivering the freshest, most delicious glass of milk to every table.
When people ask me ‘what’s so special about Readington Farms,’ I say it’s all about family.
It starts at the farm. We’re proud of the relationships we have with our farm families, who have been providing us high quality raw milk for generations. It’s because of them that we’re able to touch so many homes with a wholesome, delicious and nutritious product.
We take our role seriously to provide a key basket item to millions of families each week. Satisfying consumer needs for fresh and nutritious products is always top of mind for us and it’s our people who make the difference. The people of Readington Farms come to work here and stay— some for decades.
A fresh and nutritious product. Families helping families. A great place to work. That’s Readington Farms.
–Kristi Kangas, President, Readington Farms
To provide communities with the highest quality dairy products available while recognizing our value goes even further— to supporting the communities we serve and the people who proudly represent our organization.
Readington Farms distributes products to more than 350+ grocery stores and convenience stores in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Delaware and Maryland.
Readington Farms was born as Durling Farms in Pottersville, New Jersey. The company started processing fluid dairy products all the way back in 1888. Founded by Augustus C. Durling, it remained in the family for some four generations.
In 1990, what’s now known as Readington Farms became a subsidiary of Wakefern Food Corp., the largest retailer-owned cooperative in the U.S. Today Readington Farms supplies Wakefern banner supermarkets ShopRite, Price Rite Marketplace, The Fresh Grocer and other retailers such as QuickCheck, a privately-held and family-owned firm with over 100 convenience stores throughout northern and central New Jersey. (Interestingly, QuickCheck was established by Carlton C. Durling, the grandson of Augustus C. Durling.)
